Limousine business acquisitions

Looking to Buy a Limousine Company in Dubai?

Buying an established operation is a different decision from starting one, and it comes with its own questions. I advise prospective buyers on the operational and financial points to settle before committing, drawing on having built and run a licensed limousine company in Dubai myself.

Audience

Who this is for

  • Investors exploring the UAE limousine industry

You are looking at passenger transport as an investment and want to understand how these businesses earn, and where they lose money.

  • Entrepreneurs looking to enter the chauffeur business

You are weighing an acquisition against starting a company from scratch and want an honest view of both.

  • Existing limousine operators considering fleet expansion

You are thinking about growing by acquisition rather than adding vehicles one at a time.

  • Business owners exploring acquisition opportunities

You come from another sector and want a clear view of what a limousine business involves before committing capital.

Due diligence

What to evaluate before buying

A price only means something once you know what sits behind it. These are the areas I would look at first.

  1. 01

Fleet size, age, condition and ownership

How many vehicles, how old, how they have been maintained, and whether each is owned outright, financed or leased.

  2. 02

    RTA licensing and permit status

The status of the company's permits and of the vehicles and drivers on them, checked against the records rather than taken on trust.

  3. 03

    Revenue, expenses, liabilities and profitability

What the business earns, what it costs to run, what it owes and what is left. Ideally seen vehicle by vehicle, not averaged across the fleet.

  4. 04

    Driver contracts and visa status

Who the drivers are, how they are employed and sponsored, and what the business owes them.

  5. 05

    Existing contracts and operational dependencies

Which customers, platforms or agreements the revenue depends on, and what happens to them when ownership changes.

  6. 06

    Financial records and supporting documentation

Whether the accounts, invoices, bank statements and payroll records support the figures in the pitch.

What can be transferred, and how, depends on how the business is structured and on the requirements of the RTA and other authorities. Confirm those points directly with the relevant authority and a qualified legal adviser before you commit.

Advisory

How I can help

My role is advisory, from the operating side of the business.

  • Understanding operational readiness

Whether the business can run at the level its numbers suggest, and what would need attention in the first months.

  • Reviewing relevant business information

Reading what you are given and telling you plainly what it does and does not show.

  • Identifying key acquisition considerations

Pointing out the issues that tend to matter in a limousine acquisition, drawn from running one.

  • Assessing fleet and financial information

Looking at cost and profitability vehicle by vehicle, the way I look at a fleet I run.

  • Preparing questions for further due diligence

Leaving you with a specific list to put to the seller, your lawyer and your accountant.

This is advisory support based on operating experience. It is not legal advice, brokerage or a formal valuation, and this page is not a listing of businesses for sale.

Questions

Questions buyers
ask first.

Can I buy an existing limousine company in Dubai?

Established limousine businesses are bought and sold. What is actually being transferred, and how, depends on how the business is structured and on the requirements of the RTA and other authorities, so those points should be confirmed with the relevant authority and a legal adviser before you commit. My part is helping you understand the operational and financial side.

What should I check before acquiring a limousine business?

Six areas: the fleet, the RTA licensing and permit status, the financial history, the driver contracts and visas, the customer contracts the revenue depends on, and the records behind the numbers. The list on this page explains each one.

Can I acquire a limousine company with an existing fleet?

The fleet is often part of what is on offer, but it should not be assumed. Ask how each vehicle is owned, whether it is financed, and whether it sits under the company's permits. Vehicle condition and vehicle paperwork are two separate checks.

What information should I prepare before an acquisition discussion?

A rough budget, the kind and size of business you have in mind, your timeline, and whether you already operate in the sector. You do not need a shortlist. If you are already looking at a specific business, bring whatever the seller has shared with you.

Can you help me evaluate an acquisition opportunity?

Yes, on the operational and financial side: how the business runs, what the numbers show and what to ask next. I do not provide legal advice or a formal valuation, so those are separate steps with the right professionals.

How does the initial consultation work?

You send an inquiry using the form on this page. I read it and reply, usually within one working day, to arrange a first conversation of about twenty minutes at no charge. You tell me what you are considering, and I tell you what I would look at and whether I am the right person to help.
