Privacy Policy

Plain language, not a legal template. Last updated 17 August 2026.

This page covers rahilkherani.com: what it collects when you browse it or get in touch, why, and what you can do about it. It is written by the person who built the site, not copied from a template, and it says what the site actually does rather than what a generic policy usually says.

What is collected when you contact Rahil

The contact form asks for your name, email, and message, and optionally your phone, company and what you need help with. If you send it, that information is stored so Rahil can reply to you, and nothing else. It is not sold, rented, or shared with anyone except where the law requires it.

Two technical details are recorded alongside a message, purely to catch spam and abuse: your IP address, and your browser's user agent string. The IP address is not stored as-is. It is run through a one-way cryptographic function first, so it can be used to notice "too many messages from the same visitor in an hour" without the raw address ever being written to disk or being recoverable from what is stored.

Cookies

A session cookie is set when you use the contact form or the admin area. It exists to keep the form secure (stopping a message from being submitted twice, and stopping a forged submission from another site) and to keep an admin session logged in. It carries no personal information and is deleted when the browser session ends.

A separate, non-cookie preference (light or dark theme) is stored only in your browser's local storage. It is never sent to the server at all.

Advertising

This site runs Google Ads to reach people who need the services it describes. When that is active, Google sets its own cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device type, and which pages you visit, in order to measure how well an advert worked and to show relevant ads elsewhere. That collection and its use is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not this one. If you complete the contact form, that specific event (that a message was sent, not its content) may be reported back to Google Ads as a successful enquiry, so advertising spend can be measured against real leads rather than guesswork.

You can opt out of personalised advertising generally through Google's Ads Settings, or block third-party cookies in your browser. The contact form and the rest of the site work exactly the same either way.

How long information is kept

A message you send is kept so Rahil can find and refer back to past conversations, not deleted automatically after a fixed period. You can ask for a message to be removed at any time (see below), and it will be.

What is not done

  • No mailing list. Sending a message does not sign you up for anything.
  • No selling or renting of contact details to anyone, ever.
  • No tracking beyond what is described above. No third-party analytics other than Google Ads when it is active.

Your options

To see what is held about you, correct it, or have it deleted, email connect@rahilkherani.com and say what you would like done. A deletion request is actioned, not just acknowledged.

One honest note

This page is a plain-language description of what the site actually does, written to be accurate rather than to look impressive. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer, and if this business grows or its data practices change, this page should be reviewed by one rather than edited from memory.

Next step

Tell me what's
going wrong.

A first conversation costs nothing and takes about twenty minutes. You tell me what is filed, what is late, and what you are worried about. If I am the right person, I'll tell you what I'd do. If I'm not, I'll tell you that too.
